ABOUT THE ARTIST: Ann believes that art is meant to invoke thought, pull community together and inspire. Her art is titled “Corbett’s American Gothic.” Her inspiration for this design comes from Grant Wood’s “American Gothic”, using the farmer and his wife, with the twist of memorable Corbett’s Farm; the barn, silo and dairy cows.

Ann is a freelance artist, Art Teacher and 23 year resident of Twinsburg. She learned various art media and techniques while earning her BFA from the Columbus College of Art & Design and her MAEd from Ursuline College. Ann has been an Art Instructor for over 15 years and is currently an Art Instructor for the Solon City Schools. She was also the art coordinator for the City of Solon where she was in charge of creating programs, instruction and managing various gallery sites. One of the joint art ventures she coordinated was “Focus”, a photo competition joining multiple photographers from Twinsburg, Aurora, Macedonia and several westside cities with over 300 pieces on display each year.

Ann’s favorite quote is by Danny Kaye “Life is a great big canvas, and you should throw all the paint on it you can.” View more of her work here.
