ACCESS AND INCLUSIVITY

The Akron Children’s Museum is working to establish partnerships and policies that will help ensure access for ALL children, regardless of income/ability to pay, and regardless of any developmental or physical disability.

ACM is working with the Summit County Developmental Disabilities Board and exhibit designers to ensure that young visitors are included in ALL of the fun!  Elements such as exhibit height, wheelchair accessibility and multisensory components are being incorporated. “Play for All” days will feature special activities for children with disabilities and their families.

The “All-Access Kids Fund” will support reduced or free admission for families or groups needing a little assistance. Special contributions/sponsorships and business memberships will support the fund’s growth.  ACM will work with area youth serving organizations, including daycare and preschool agencies and public schools, to extend these opportunities to those in greatest need.
