B4 Bed: Stories for Adults ('The Autumn of the Patriarch')

Who says stories are just for kids? Join us for some “radio play style” stories for adults.

The Autumn of the Patriarch by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

Considered a “poem on the solitude of power” and featuring Márquez’s unique voice, this story is one of six sections from Gabriel García Márquez’s The Autumn of the Patriarch.

Based on real-life autocrats in the Caribbean, The Autumn of the Patriarch tells the story of a fictional dictator who conveys to the reader his desperation and loneliness while also detailing some of the atrocities and ruthless behavior that keeps him in power.
