(dis)ABLED BEAUTY: juried exhibition featuring art celebrating inclusivity

High School Artists Call for Entries

We are seeking submissions for 2-D and 3-D works inspired by the artist's interpretation of what it means to have a disability and be beautiful or works celebrating various forms of physical disabilities.

Cash prize available for best in show!

Submissions due: January 15
Notifications of accepted work: January 31
Works must be dropped off to Spectrum Gallery in Akron by: February 13
Show and reception: February 18

*Submit 3 images of work in jpeg form 1MB max size (at least one image must be an up-close/detail image). Maximum size of submission is 72". Artists must submit a 20 - 30 word statement regarding how their work reflects the theme of the exhibition. Submissions must be sent to Dr. Tameka Ellington at tellingt@kent.edu.

*All 2-D work must have appropriate hanging equipment.

*All accepted work must be dropped off to: The Spectrum Gallery at 526 S. Main Street, 5th Floor in Akron.
