Empowering girls 10-16 through music!
Girls are so often told the things that “girls can’t do”. “Girls can’t play drums” or “girls don’t play guitar”. Girls Rock Camp Akron wants to change all that by giving girls the opportunity to say “I already do” when someone tells them they can’t.

Following in the footsteps of other Girls Rock Camps across the county, Girls Rock Camp Akron will empower girls through music and maybe even find Akron’s next Chrissie Hynde!
WHY AKRON?
The idea for Girls Rock Camp Akron came from founder Dylan Yellowlees, who recently moved to Akron from Atlanta and had helped fundraise for the Atlanta Girls Rock Camp in the past.
The Knight Arts Challenge was the perfect way to get started and Girls Rock Camp Akron was one of the winning ideas out of more than 500 submitted.
