Through the Eyes of the Artist – Romare Bearden

The Hudson Library & Historical Society continues a series of artist biographical lectures when local art historian Felicia Zavarella Stadelman discusses the African-American artist, Romare Bearden, who the New York Times called “the nation’s foremost collagist.” Bearden was a founding member of the Harlem-based art group known as The Spiral, formed to discuss the role of the African-American artist in the civil rights movement. Attendees will be given an informative postcard that includes facts about Bearden’s life.
