Johann Strauss II’s witty and effervescent story of revenge.
Witty and fun from the start of its famous overture to the final notes of Act III’s tribute to champagne, Kent State Opera and KSU Orchestra present “Waltz King” Johann Strauss II’s “Die Fledermaus.” Set in Vienna, the action centers on the revenge of Dr. Falke, who was earlier left wearing a bat costume in a public market by his friend Eisenstein. When New Year’s Eve arrives, Falke exacts his revenge at a party where the champagne flows freely and antics inevitably ensue. With three opportunities to experience this beloved operetta on March 16 and 17 at 7:30 p.m. and March 18 at 3 p.m., this is a party not to be missed!
