Cuyahoga Community College and Great Lakes Theater presents "August Wilson: The Art of Storytelling," Monday, January 21, 2019 10 am-4 pm (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) at Playhouse Square Idea Center, 1375 Euclid Avenue.

Free parking and lunch provided. This is a cross-disciplinary professional development workshop for educators - Language Arts, Music, History, and Theater Arts.

 - Explore Wilson's language through movement, gesture, and verbal expression
 - Explore Wilson's influence on the teaching of Language Arts, History, Music, and Theater Arts.
 - Explore the use of Wilson's plays and monologues as a method to raise awareness and dialogue of current social issues.
 - Come away with lesson plans and insights into the playwright referred to as "America's Shakespeare"

The workshop will focus on Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. Familiarity with this play is recommended but not required.

Registration deadline: December 30, 2018. Cost: $25.00 (payable day of workshop. Cash or check only, please). This workshop is limited to 35 participants.
