Art x Love is leading the Rubber Worker Stories Project, an initiative to collect audio/visual stories from Akron’s rubber workers and their descendants. Selected stories will be displayed and shared at an interactive kiosk, which will be installed on the northeast corner of South Main and Mill streets, the primary viewing area for the statue.

We’ve built the website to make capturing these stories as easy possible, but we’re also happy to hop on the phone or schedule an interview to capture anyone’s story. It’s very important to us that we get as many stories as possible from people who have direct experience of this period in Akron’s history before it is too late.

The collected Rubber Worker Stories we receive are going to be part of an audio and video interactive kiosk that will be installed adjacent to the Rubber Worker Statue in downtown Akron.

In addition, commemorative bricks can be purchased and brochures can be ordered through the website, www.akronstories.com, by emailing contact@akronstories.com or calling 330-238-8588.

Thank you for your consideration and assistance in bringing this historic initiative to life!
