The Ohio Collage Society is an organization for people who are interested in and practicing the art of collage in the state of Ohio. Our founder, Gretchen Bierbaum, is also the founder of the National Collage Society, of which we are an affiliate. We hold exhibits, gather together to create and discuss collage, and work to strengthen appreciation, production and visibility of this uniquely 20th century art form in the State of Ohio.
Each year, the members’ show includes diverse approaches to our chosen technique. Encaustic, photo-montage, assemblage, chine-colle and ceramics are only a few of the materials and strategies used to deconstruct and then construct distinct forms of art. You will discover in these works materials that were never intended for art production but in the hands of our members are reinterpreted and distilled into new and exciting works of art.
