JOB DESCRIPTION

The Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, is seeking a Fine Arts Teacher to be responsible for developing students’ interest in and the ability for creative expression in visual terms, focusing on technique and color theory, to discover and develop talents of students second grade thru high school levels in the field of visual art.
• Instructor much have a degree in the arts and/or experience teaching art education.
• Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students of varying ages and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities.
• Be able to create unique lesson plans, in line with CVAC’s ‘Children’s Class Expectations’.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

STUDIO ART FOR HOME SCHOOLED CHILDREN (6 or 8WEEKS)
SECOND GRADE – HIGH SCHOOL– Join us at CVAC for the fun and exciting studio art course offering students the opportunity to learn from a professional teaching artist subjects such as, drawing, painting, sculpture, art history, and the art of exhibition. These courses will focus on hands-on learning intended to spark creativity, imagination and build a lifelong connection with art. This program will offer home schooled students the opportunity to explore, study, practice and exhibit their fine arts skills within our studio setting. An ideal class where siblings and friends can learn and grow their artistic abilities together.

DISCOVERY OF ART (Second Grade - 6th Grade) (6 or 8 WEEKS)
BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE – Students will have the opportunity to expand their imaginations and creative wings by exploring different types of artistic styles such as, drawing, painting, mixed media, art history, and the art of exhibition. The class is structured with fun in mind! All materials included in class cost.

ARTS DEVELOPMENT (Middle School - High School) (6 or 8 WEEKS)
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED – Middle & High School age students with arts experience will jump into a variety of techniques such as, drawing, painting, art history, and the art of exhibition. Explore advanced concepts in drawing from life with everything from figure drawing to landscapes. Students will have the opportunity to participate in the designated class projects or work independently. All materials included in class cost.
