An Evening with Historian Susan Ronald, Author of The Ambassador

On Thursday, September 9 at 6 p.m. the Hudson Library & Historical Society will host a live virtual streaming event with historian Susan Ronald, author of The Ambassador: Joseph P. Kennedy at the Court of St. James’s 1938-1940. Kirkus Reviews calls The Ambassador “A well-researched history of an egotist who toyed with world affairs.”

In 1938, Joseph P. Kennedy was sworn in as US Ambassador to the Court of St. James. His appointment to the most prestigious and strategic diplomatic post in the world shocked the Establishment. Initially welcomed by the British, in less than two short years Kennedy was loathed by the White House, the State Department and the British Government.
