Mozart and Dvořák

Presented by The Cleveland Orchestra at Unknown

Jan 13 - 15 2022
Mozart and Dvořák

The Cleveland Orchestra Franz Welser-Möst, conductor

The Cleveland Orchestra
Franz Welser-Möst, conductor
MOZART  Symphony No. 36 (“Linz”)
DEUTSCH  Intensity
DVOŘÁK  Symphony No. 8
Franz Welser-Möst leads the Orchestra in a concert that opens with a charming work with a sentimental connection: the Linz symphony, is named after his hometown. Mozart wrote it when stopping over on a trip from Vienna to Salzburg. Concluding the concert is Dvořák’s Eighth…as exciting and tuneful as his famous New World Symphony (if not more so), this symphony revels in the sheer joy of being alive in a world of natural wonders.
