SCHOENBERG Concerto for Piano and Orchestra
BRUCKNER Symphony No. 9 in D minor

Mitsuko Uchida, long-time friend, collaborator, and audience favorite, performs Schoenberg’s Piano Concerto, one of the most important works that came out of his time in America. The harmonies of Bruckner’s Ninth Symphony point to Mahler and Schoenberg with the very 20th-century-sounding interval of a ninth at the start of the third movement.
