Join NCCAkron and choreographer Helanius J. Wilkins (Boulder, CO) for a live conversation on creativity, craft, and career.

Join NCCAkron this spring for Inside the Dancer’s Studio, a live conversation series with choreographers from around the country.

These free lunchtime talks explore creativity, the craft of choreography, and navigating an artistic career. All talks will take place on Fridays at 12:30 PM ET, in Studio 194 of Guzzetta Hall on The University of Akron Campus. Helanius J. Wilkins, a native of Lafayette, Louisiana, is an award-winning choreographer, performance artist, and educator. He founded and ran EDGEWORKS Dance Theater (Washington, D.C.), an all-male dance company of predominantly African-American men, from 2001 – 2014. Parking for audience members attending evening and weekend performances is free in the E.J. Thomas Hall deck when there is not an event in that venue. Handicap-accessible parking for audience members is available in all lots, including the residential surface lot across from Guzzetta Hall.
