Opening Reception: East to West, Tidal Pool, & Ultramarine

Join us for a free opening reception for three new exhibitions created and curated by students from The University of Akron!

Join us for a free opening reception for three new exhibitions created and curated by students from The University of Akron! All attendees will receive free admission to the new exhibition, as well as the National Museum of Psychology. Light refreshments will be provided.

About the Exhibitions
East to West is the first public exhibition of the Charles and Lucy Voris Baird Collection in 40 years, spotlighting pieces from China, Japan, and modern-day Thailand. The collection includes 13th – 15th century Thai pottery, Japanese prints by the masters Hiroshige and Hokusai, Japanese leather shadow puppets, and blue and white Chinese porcelain from the Ming and Qing dynasties. East to West is curated by students in the Museums and Archives Studies and Public Humanities Certificate Programs.

Tidal Pool by Myers School of Art student Ashley Strub is prompted by the nature of reality and the steady facets of interiors, space, and landscapes. Strub uses substrates of varying states of ... view more »

PARKING INFO

Free parking is available in the lot directly adjacent to the building. This lot contains a dedicated accessible parking spot near the museum entrance.

Free parking is also available in Lot 30 at the corner of College and Market streets, which contains several accessible parking spaces.

Metered parking is available along South College Street. Pavement from Lot 30 and metered parking may be uneven, and people with limited mobility should exercise caution.
