We are aware that COVID-19 is affecting the scheduling of events and other gatherings throughout our community. As we all work together to respond to this crisis, we understand that many events on this site may not yet be updated with the most current closure information. We encourage you to check with event organizers and venues regarding the status of any event you are looking to attend. Thank you.
We know that diverse opportunities to experience arts, culture, and the environment are key to creating a vibrant and prosperous community.
For the first time in its history, Akron will be engaging in a city-wide cultural planning process to ensure arts and culture in the community is thriving. This process will be exceptionally collaborative, will evaluate existing resources, and examine the needs and desires of residents from across Akron’s 24 neighborhoods.
The Akron Cultural Plan will promote an equitable, world-class cultural environment that strengthens the City, advances cultural diversity, increases opportunities to create culture, and provides vibrant experiences for all residents and visitors.
In order to accomplish the goals of the Cultural Plan, extensive community engagement is of utmost importance and we need your help! As part of the Cultural Planning process, Designing Local is committed to being at as many cultural events throughout the City as possible and is looking for artists to manage outreach and engagement tables at community events throughout the Summer.
What is Designing Local looking from Artists?
