An Evening with Zora: Their Eyes Were Watching God and the Harlem Renaissance Movement

The Harlem Renaissance was an artistic and historic movement that revealed a flurry of activity from writers of African descent. Dr. Philathia Bolton, Assistant Professor, University of Akron Department of English, will discuss the Harlem Renaissance, focusing specifically on Zora Neale Hurston’s emergence as a significant writer during the movement. Dr. Bolton obtained a PhD in American Studies from Purdue University.
