The Ohio Local History Alliance region 3 meeting will be held in Akron next Saturday, March 23rd at Lock 3 Commons.
Veronica Sims, Ohio House of Representatives, 33rd District, will host the welcome with Jennie Highfield, OLHA Trustee-at-Large and Executive Director of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Megan Wood, Executive Director of the Ohio History Connection, and Todd Kleismit, Executive Director of the Ohio Commission for the U.S. Semiquincentennial, will be in attendance. Todd will be speaking during a session with Dave Lieberth in the morning.
The afternoon sessions include partnerships in storytelling with under-told stories that will include details about the Sojourner Truth Statue and Legacy Plaza with Towanda Mullins and the Portage Path Collaborative with Dr. Jodi Kearns and Francisca Ugalde, M.A. of the University of Akron’s Institute for Human Science & Culture, Cummings Center.
