Ohio Local History Alliance Regional Meeting

The Ohio Local History Alliance region 3 meeting will be held in Akron next Saturday, March 23rd at Lock 3 Commons.

Veronica Sims, Ohio House of Representatives, 33rd District, will host the welcome with Jennie Highfield, OLHA Trustee-at-Large and Executive Director of Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Megan Wood, Executive Director of the Ohio History Connection, and Todd Kleismit, Executive Director of the Ohio Commission for the U.S. Semiquincentennial, will be in attendance. Todd will be speaking during a session with Dave Lieberth in the morning.

The afternoon sessions include partnerships in storytelling with under-told stories that will include details about the Sojourner Truth Statue and Legacy Plaza with Towanda Mullins and the Portage Path Collaborative with Dr. Jodi Kearns and Francisca Ugalde, M.A. of the University of Akron’s Institute for Human Science & Culture, Cummings Center. Registration fee for Alliance members: $35. Non-members: $50. Registration fee includes continental breakfast, lunch, admission fees, and handouts.

Lock 3 occupancy is 5,000.
Shirt and shoes required for admittance.
For concerts that have an admission charge tickets are available at the gate the night of the show and need to be paid in cash. No advance sales. Children 48 inches and under admitted FREE!
