Weathervane Playhouse (Akron) is seeking a Director of Education to oversee all aspects of its educational programming.  Core responsibilities include overall development, organization, operation, and coordination of education programming; supervising and hiring teaching artists and interns; developing curriculum; creating and maintaining educational partnerships; supporting the Marketing Director’s management of marketing and outreach for education programs, setting and managing an annual budget with the support of the Director of Finance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Arts Administration, Education, or equivalent.
At least 3 years of relevant experience.
Self-motivated individual.
Able to work well in a team-oriented workplace.
Manage and hire teaching artists.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Flexibility, creativity, and dedication to serving the needs of the education program
Salary & Schedule:  Education Director is a full-time, exempt position. Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include health care, dental plan, vision plan, paid vacation/PTO, short and long-term disability plans, life insurance, and simple IRA with a match. Some weekend and evening hours.
