Celebrate a Christmas in July on July 24th with “A Christmas Story.” The nostalgic 1983 comedy is set in 1940s Cleveland and is appreciated far and wide as one of the best Christmas films. The movie will start around 9 p.m. and runs 93 minutes.
Moviegoers are encouraged to arrive as early as 7:30 p.m.to tour The Civil War Memorial Chapel and picnic on the grounds, with local food vendors including Stray Dog Hotdog Cart. To set the holiday mood, Mars and Benny Cookie Company will sell Christmas cookies and Sarah Gott will lead the kids in a Christmas craft.
Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters from the movie and to bring low chairs, blankets, and flashlights. The main gate on Glendale Ave will not be open for this event and there is no parking in the cemetery. Street parking is available outside the west entrance on West Exchange and at January Paint & Wallpaper, 394 West Exchange Street.
