Apparitions Art Opening

Apparitions 2023

Art opening at the Kluth Gallery, 300 N. Water St. in Kent, OH, sharing art by Kent and Akron artists.

Apparitions are mental projections, ghosts, visions, or spiritual messengers. In the United States, apparitions are most commonly thought of as ghosts and are often perceived as frightening. However, in Europe, the term “Apparitions” refers to the visitations of the saints, who often appeared to young women of middle-class or poor background. One example of this phenomenon was the visitation of Holy Mary to Bernadette at Lourdes. Mary told Bernadette that a spring of healing water would appear in the Grotto of Lourdes. When the spring appeared, thousands of pilgrims gathered to hear Bernadette describe her vision.

We welcome local artists to participate in our October 21st Apparitions show. Bring your work in or mail it to us. Contact fp@fjkag1.onmicrosoft.com for more information.
