Art of Recovery

Presented by Community Support Services at Greystone Hall, Akron OH

Mar 14 2019
Art of Recovery

Art of Recovery provides an opportunity for individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness to exhibit their artwork and receive recognition for their creative talents from the agency and community. Benefiting the enhancement of the Expressive Arts program at Community Support Services, the event has showcased over 200 original artworks since it began as a yearly celebration in 2016.

By bringing attention to the artists’ strengths through artistic expression, we help to fight the stigma still associated with mental illness. The public display encourages guests to witness the powerful impact creative expression affords in the mental health recovery process.

40 pieces of original artwork will be on display during the event.

All artwork will be available for purchase with 75% of the proceeds going to the artists. 25% of the proceeds are reinvested in the Expressive Arts program of Community Support Services.
