DrunKatie

A solo performance inspired by a transformative path to sobriety

Scrolling through her memories like TikToks on a phone, Katie traverses through the challenges of her relationship with alcohol in the short solo performance DrunKatie. From overusing it in college to abusing it in adulthood, she eventually discovers a way out of the cycle that leads to her sobriety. This play is a collage of genre, poetry, and movement that investigates embodiment in overcoming addiction and confronts the notions of alcohol being equal to social ritual.
