Darnell-Jamal Lisby, Assistant Curator of the Cleveland Museum of Art, will give a presentation about the dynamic effects of the fashion historical collaborations between Black fashion designers and contemporary artist.
From Bill T. Jones and Willi Smith of WilliWear to Derrick Adams and Kerby Jean-Raymond of Pyer Moss, the collaborative realm between Black fashion designers and contemporary artists is very robust and rich. Through this intersection, audiences feel more connected to both fashion and art. For this presentation, Darnell-Jamal Lisby, Assistant Curator of the Cleveland Museum of Art, will give a presentation about the dynamic effects of the fashion historical collaborations between Black fashion designers and contemporary artist, contextualizing how Black ingenuity plays a significant role in the expansion of fashion.
