Haiku Study Group

Haiku is a Japanese form of poetry which employs brevity, rich imagery, seasonality and objective awareness. Julie Warther, Midwest Regional Coordinator for the Haiku Society of America, will facilitate a study group for the purpose of introducing new writers to haiku and encouraging others in their pursuit to become stronger readers and writers of contemporary English-language haiku. The group is open to anyone from beginners to seasoned haiku poets. Each session will include writing exercises, discussion of published haiku, and time for attendees to write and share their work.
