Members' Show

The Akron Soul Train (AST) Members’ Show celebrates the creativity, cultural voice, and experiences of the AST community. Showcasing a cross-section of talent from around the region, the exhibition will highlight individuals who care and appreciate Akron Soul Train’s ultimate mission to support creators and make art accessible to all.

Highlighted as the Spotlight Artist for our 2024 Members’ Show, Chen Peng draws upon her immigrant background to delve into the intricate interplay between landscapes and the nuances of identity and belonging. Through her art, she constructs foreign terrains that weave together fragments of past encounters, recollections, and flights of imagination, evoking the disorienting sensation of grappling with the concept of home. Visitors are encouraged to immerse themselves in a voyage that blurs the lines separating reality from fantasy, fostering moments of self-reflection, camaraderie, and, ideally, a source of solace and reassurance.
