"Bodily Functions" photography by Daena Urbanski

at Nine Muses Art Gallery, Barberton OH

Dec 04 2015

Bodily Functions is an expansion of a series I originally photographed in 2009. After showing my grade school art teacher the first photograph and seeing her reaction when I explained the subject matter, I was inspired to expand that one piece into a series of seven for my senior portfolio. During the years since then, I felt like I wasn’t finished. The series you see now is an expression of love and curiosity for the human body and the many appearances it can take that you may never have given a second glance before. Daena Urbanski is an artist and crafter working out of Akron. Her previous work has been displayed in various galleries in Northeast Ohio. This is her first solo exhibition.
