Registration for Wandering Aesthetics' Storytelling Class

“Yesterday morning I had the opportunity to take part in the Performers Toolbox workshop, Do Not Be Dismissed: Presence and Energy in Performance. By the end of our session, I was vibrating with a warmth and energy I didn’t have when I arrived. I was able to better connect to those I was working with and allow myself to be vulnerable. I trusted myself to perform a piece that wasn’t yet polished in front of the group and accept what it was in the present moment. No excuses. No fear. Just action.”
– Kim Woodworth, Northeast Ohio Area Actress and Stage Manager

FUNdamentals of Storytelling
Ages: 16+
Classes held at Akron Center For Art Music & Performance (ACAMP) • 118 W. Market St. • Akron, OH 44303

Tuition: $150 (Sale: $140 until January 1)

To tell a story is to be the story, and this introduction to storytelling is your first step on the path to telling yours. Working with Wandering Aesthetics’ Education Director and Master Storyteller, Kyle Jozsa, and Artistic Director Benjamin Rexroad, students will explore the basics of discovering and crafting their very own story.

Using folktales along with real life experiences, Jozsa and Rexroad will guide participants through the process of building a narrative. Moving from the bare bones to muscle & blood, participants will learn basic storytelling fundamentals and use those tools to shape their own telling.

The workshop is designed for storytelling beginners, but can also offer new techniques to more experienced storytellers.

Saturdays @ 12:30 PM – 3:00 PM (4/9 – 4/30)
