Second Annual Native American Foods Dinner

Presented by The Lippman School at Schultz Campus for Jewish Life, Akron OH

Oct 06 2019
Second Annual Native American Foods Dinner

Come sample delicious authentic Native American cuisine at our second annual Native American Foods Dinner.

The Native American Foods Dinner is sponsored by The Portage Path Collaborative: an assembly of educators, organizations and individuals committed to preserving and sharing the history of the First People of Akron and Summit County.

The portage between the Cuyahoga River and Tuscarawas River – the Portage Path – is the singular feature in Akron representing native peoples who used the portage in prehistoric times and tribal groups that resided here after European contact.

This celebration is part of a weekend of activities commemorating North American First Peoples Day on the first Monday in October, as declared by the Councils of the City of Akron and Summit County.
