The show that made the line “Feed me!” famous comes to Hoban High School with a ginormous plant that has a taste for humans, a dentist who loves his laughing gas, a glam girl group and ‘Suddenly Seymour’! Online ticket sale!
Little Shop of Horrors is a comedy horror rock musical by composer Alan Menken and writer Howard Ashman. The show is about Seymour, a hapless orphaned florist shop worker who raises a plant that feeds on human blood and flesh. The plant grows to mammoth proportions, becoming a sensation and tourist attraction, bringing Seymour everything he wants, but he pays the ultimate price.
The musical is based on the low-budget 1960 dark comedy film The Little Shop of Horrors, directed by Roger Corman. The music, composed in the style of early 1960s rock and roll, doo-wop and early Motown, includes several well-known tunes, including the title song, “Skid Row (Downtown),” “Somewhere That’s Green” and “Suddenly, Seymour.” Ashman and Menken also collaborated on the songs for Disney’s The Little Mermaid and Aladdin.
