The Rules of the Playground

Presented by Queen Bee Productions at Weathervane Playhouse, Akron OH

Mar 22 - 31 2019
The Rules of the Playground

An evening of six of Carolyn Gage’s hardest-hitting plays; daring, heartbreaking, principled, bitter, and often very funny, exploring cultural norms, expectations, and gender roles.

Queen Bee Productions is proud to present The Rules of the Playground: An Evening of Works by Carolyn Gage sponsored by Weathervane Playhouse in their intimate Dietz theatre. Performances will be March 22, 23, 24, 29, 30 and 31 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15-$22 and available by calling 330-836-2626 or going to www.weathervaneplayhouse.com

Even though these plays were written in the last several decades, some as early as 1987, the subject matter is still relevant today. Given today’s rising, global fundamentalism, the #MeToo movement, and the ever-present threat to women’s reproductive autonomy, Gage’s plays inform the important conversations we are having right now. This production is rated PG-13 due to references to sex, violence, mild drug use, and language. The Rules of the Playground is directed by Deb Lemire.
