Mom, The Masterpiece--Portrait Painting Workshop

Promised yourself last year that you would have the perfect gift for next Mother’s Day? Summit Artspace has you covered with Jen Davis’ easy portrait painting method using Mom’s photo! Oh, and Mother’s Day is May 8.

You will be Mom's favorite if you present her with this portrait! Attend the Summit Artspace workshop on Friday, May 6, and you'll be set with the perfect Mother's Day gift when you take Mom out to brunch on Sunday.Your siblings will be green with envy so maybe you should bring them along. Or not…

Once you sign up and pay for the class here, your work begins. Search for your favorite photo of Mom. Our instructor artist Jennifer Davis of smART Studio in Akron advises that as long as the photo is clear, it can be a full body shot or just her head. You can also take a photo of a photo if needed. Then scan the photo.

THIS PART IS IMPORTANT! Email your scan of Mom's photo before April 29 to mila@akronareaarts.org. Your file will be put into Jennifer's talented hands. With TLC, she will create a template based on the photo just for you and then she'll guide you in the painting process. We'll have all the supplies you need when you arrive. Mom will be soooooo impressed!
