The ORAS tools can be used for preparation to reentry just prior to release from prison.
The Ohio Risk Assessment System (ORAS), is an evidence based practice. An evidence based practice is the knowledge and research developed around methods and tools which reduce recidivism (returning to incarceration). The ORAS tools can be used in the following ways: at pretrial; before or while on community supervision; at prison intake; and preparation to reentry just prior to release from prison. The following seminar will provide additional information about this useful system. Location: Room 2AB.
